Four of Geelong’s notable MICE products took home multiple awards at the VTIC Victorian Tourism Awards Gala Ceremony on Thursday 30 November.
The Victorian Tourism Awards, hosted annually by the Victoria Tourism Industry Council (VTIC), recognises business excellence, together with outstanding innovation, industry professionalism and collaboration within tourism.
In Victoria alone, there were 104 finalists across 29 business categories, including the introduction of Excellence in Accessible Tourism as a national category.
The following Geelong MICE products proudly received gold in three of the 29 categories:
Geelong Gallery – Cultural Tourism
Searoad Ferries – Major Tour and Transport Operators
Accommodation at Curlewis – 4 – 4.5 star Deluxe Accommodation
The Geelong Cats hospitality arm, Higher Mark, also received bronze in the Business Events Venues award.
In addition, both Geelong Gallery and Searoad Ferries were inducted into the prestigious Victorian Tourism Awards esteemed Hall of Fame, after winning gold in the same category for three consecutive years.
“We are so proud of both the winners and the finalists for their remarkable contributions to growing Geelong and The Bellarine’s visitor economy,” said Tourism Greater Geelong and The Bellarine Executive Director Tracy Carter.
“While we’ve always known just how special our local industry is, it’s incredibly satisfying to see our members recognised on a state level.”
Tamie Ryan, Convention Bureau Manager said, “It was great to see everyone from across Victoria come together for tourism’s night of nights and being recognised for their incredible contribution to the tourism industry.
Congratulations to all winners and finalists, we are so proud of all the local businesses from within the Greater Geelong and the Bellarine region.”
