Inside our EA Famil
Considering Geelong and The Bellarine for your next business event? Business Events Geelong hosted 12 executive assistants and event planners from Melbourne for a 3 day familiarisation of the region.
Here is what they got up too.
Day One:
Guests arrived in style, direct from the Docklands to Portarlington via Port Phillip Ferries, and where whisked away to the Curlewis Golf Club. Here, they discovered the impressive & picturesque new Curlewis Golf Club clubhouse and accommodation, which isn’t just to be enjoyed by the avid golfer, but doubles as an incredible conference and event space.
Next stop, the team were transported to Geelong and shown through a purpose built conference & event space in the central business precinct @ Rydges. Feeling a bit peckish by this stage, it was time to wine and dine and sample the incredible catering offering that the restaurant @ Rydges has to offer.
Following this, the group discovered a number of accommodation options at the stunning R Hotel and the Novotel Geelong, both of which have access to waterfront views. The group checked into the Novotel Geelong, and had a moment to refresh, before enjoying a much needed drink in the prohibition styled 18th Amendment bar, where they partook in a Gin masterclass.
Day one’s finale was hosted by Highermark at GMHBA Stadium, the home of AFL team the Geelong Cats, where guests were treated to a progressive dinner held across several of its events and conferencing spaces.

Day Two:
While the weather wasn’t ideal, it didn’t dampen spirits and our group took to the skies with Geelong Helicopters, transporting the team from Geelong Waterfront, along The Great Ocean Road to Mantra Lorne. Here guests checked in and prepared themselves for another action packed day.
Next stop was lunch @ Coda, an experience not to be missed. Here the team sampled the menu and were able to experience the very best in modern Asian flavours.
After a relaxing lunch, it was time to get the blood flowing and hearts racing, which led us to the Live Wire Adventure Park. An afternoon in the tree tops was enjoyed by all.
Back @ The Mantra guests participated in an immersive cooking experience, followed by tastings into dinner. The night was signed off enjoying s’mores by the camp fire! What a day & night it was.

Day Three:
The last day of the famil had arrived! Waving goodbye to the Mantra Lorne the team took a guided Indigenous walk along the beach with Norm Stanley of Wurri Ki Culture.
After an incredible experience listening to native music, they toured the stunning Great Ocean Road resort, enjoyed some toasty warm Gin tasting by the fire with The Great Ocean Road Gin Tasting Room and headed off for a delicious lunch @ The Coast.
To finish off the day and the famil, our guests wound down with a mindfulness experience with Revitalise Escapes, and before we signed off for the weekend, Go Ride a Wave challenged the group to a fun outdoor team building exercise which mimicked the Amazing Race.
This is just one example of what our region has to offer within the business events space.
