Shhh…it’s a secret

The location and lunch offering was a complete secret for 45 participants of a Mystery Lunch tour on the Bellarine Peninsula this month.
Hosted by Barwon Heads Wine Store, the day started with a seafood taster in a park before a short drive to Searoad Ferries at Queenscliff for what looked like a ferry ride to Sorrento. Still not knowing what lay ahead guests were surprised and delighted with a 2 hour Bay sail and a private ‘Captains” lunch served in the Portsea Lounge and catered for by Searoad Ferries head chef, Brent Love.
Shared produce platters using local produce of Queenscliff butchers cured meats, Alchemy wood fired sourdough, Lighthouse olive oil and Green Olive’s matched with Leura Park Pinot Gris and Crittenden Estate Pinocchio Pinot Grigio were served followed by a slow cooked lamb shoulder and roast chicken, with slow roasted root vegetables and garden greens with matching wines.
The Beatle’s sang “A magical mystery tour is going take you away, going to take you away…..”…….and they were.
